Ouroroginal overnite went to two days of relaxation. Your home is truly a home for all. It is so quiet here and we loved the dogs. Your resident chef was terrific, as was his skills as a gardener, farmer and auto mechanic. Thank you so very very much for such a nice stay. If we come this way again we will stay here!

We had an amazing time here
We came to stay a couple of days to have some rest in a beautiful place. What we got was much more. We instantly felt at home, like we had known each other a long time. We were really laughing, we played, we ate delicious things, we had meaningful conversations. We learned to love the dogs, they are the cutest! We created memories that we will keep with us forever.

A wonderful stay, a great experience
All the food was fab. We felt so comfortable and every expectation was surpassed.
Lovely accommodation and nothing was too much trouble. Saw a lot of the surroundings whether this was on walks or from being driven on excursions. Nothing was out of reach and you catered for every whim. I’ll miss you all so I’ll be back!

Last day of what has been a wonderful getaway – away from pollution, humdrum and a busy life. I am so relaxed now that I don’t know what day it is!
Le Moulin is a remote, very different (in a great way) place. It’s very well decorated, all the rooms are different and we all enjoyed our sleeps.
The hosts, Sarah, Vince and Sarah took time to find out what we wanted to see, to do, to eat… with a delicious cake every day. The food was lovely… more pounds now to be reckoned with. The walks we did were lovely, the Marais Poitevin was a lovely experience. Sarah Plant drove us anywhere we wanted to go… thank you.
I was also delighted to meet Julian, he also anticipated our needs before we even knew them…

A much anticipated and very much enjoyed week at LMC. I’m enjoying the fresh air, singing birds and frolicking puppies as I write this. The delicious coffee is brewing and I’ll be off soon – so sad. Sarah, Vince and Sarah have been very attentive to us over the past week.
As I am writing this I have just finished another piece of one of Vince’s wonderful cakes and he really is a fantastic cake maker and also produced beautiful meals for us every evening.
Sarah, Vince and Sarah have been very attentive to us over the past week, we ate wholesome home cooked meals, vegetables grown in their garden and enjoyed a variety of local wines.
Sarah Pllant went out of her way to explain where we could go to do some walks and brought us to some beautiful local markets and villages. A very relaxing week.

A delight to ‘veg’ out for a week
After weeks of travelling through Europe it was such a delight to ‘veg’ out for a week, ensconced in a beautifully restored old farm and mill, enjoying walks through quiet green countryside alive with birdsong. The walks were bookended by meals to die for, and if we had enough walking we ended our day by swimming in the sparkling blue pool. Altogether the most relaxing time we have had in a long time. We loved the birdsong: chiff chaff, chaffinch, blackcap, white throat, linnet, cirl bunting, song thrush, golden oriole, the sound of frogs and watching a kestrel dive-bomb a buzzard. We enjoyed the comfortable airy Des Poutres and the convivial company of other guests. Not as much walking as anticipated because of thunderstorms, but we look forward to some lively table tennis this evening before we leave.

Our second visit and we managed to spend some time around the pool which was amazing.
We had dinner the first night and I’m a picky vegan, but a meal was made especially for me and it was the best meal I have had in ages.

C’était si bon de revenir au Moulin après plusieurs années d’absence.
Il y a eu de nombreux temps forts lors de cette visite. La nourriture – surtout le sanglier bourguignon, le barbecue, le pique-nique avec des boules impromptues et sans oublier la merveilleuse campagne des Deux Sèvres et ses gens sympathiques.
Un grand merci à Sarah, Sarah et Vince pour un accueil vraiment chaleureux et aussi pour avoir organisé la location du vélo électrique (qui a certainement amélioré nos randonnées à vélo) et les massages curatifs offerts par Gemma.

A return visit after honeymooning here in July 2009 and delighted to say very little has changed.
We love the challenging, picturesque cycling around here and having Le Moulin as our base camp. Feels like a home from home.
Vince is pack leader and fed us so many wonderful meals. More than that I enjoyed so many chats with him and hearing about all the exciting future plans at Le Moulin. Nothing is too much trouble for Le Moulin Sarah 1 and Sarah 2 and the dogs made our stay complete. We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and communal meals reminded us that this is how food should be ejoyed… over several hours with good company.
We will miss the Moulin crew and will definitely be back to celebrate another anniversary
PS Raclette night was a hughlight along with all of Vince’s deserts!

But we weren’t expecting what we found here
Our unplanned journey took us to Le Moulin du Chemin. We were drawn to this place by the beautiful pictures on the booking site… but we weren’t expecting what we found here. Of course the property is as beautiful as it seems – and yet still that is the less special feature of this place.
Here we got to know Vince, taste his amazing food, and enjoy his not-less-amazing conversation. Saah, always helping us to make the most of our trip and making us laugh with her witty banter. Sam and Logan, the loveliest mother and son you’ll ever meet (although they need to improve their water gun skills!). Georgia, always helpful, and always with a smile on her face. The two Kiwi Sue’s that feel like family already.
And of course the most important guests of all – Bobb, Flora and Sophie. We really had to fight our urge not to kidnap one of them and take them home with us… amazing dogs. We can’t wait to be back with our little Samuel so that he can meet everyone… and hopefully meet Flora’s babies too

After originally booking to visit Le Moulin du Chemin two years ago, finally getting here was certainly worth the wait.
The food was truly fabulous as was the wine and cocktails. Chats around the table with our hosts plus Howard and Becky were great fun.
We very much enjoyed the surrounding area – so beautiful – with a myriad of walks and activities to enjoy. We loved relaxing by the pool on our return from a day out.

A superb stay
The location and comfortable rooms are superb, and we have been looked after like royalty during our stay.
We have had some very interesting cycle rides using the well-described pre-planned routes presented in the room folder.
The food and wine have been excellent and Vince has done a fantastic job with preparing all the lovely meals we have eaten during our stay.
We will miss you all but hopefully meet again in the not too distant future.

Excellent meal and good week
Sarah and Vince and Sarah have been really helpful with a minor crisis caused by Easyjet who cancelled our flight. A sign of the times unfortunately.
I feel more able to battle up steep slopes on one of the centre’s bikes but fear I may well have added a few poundss as a result of the excellent meals and many beers!
This area of France is very different from Provence where my stepson lives but it’s always good to experience a new area.
Yet another experience to add to the numerous adventures I have had after 75 years on the planet.
A beautiful place, and exceptional people
Such a beautiful spot, the birdsong is enchanting. We’ve loved everything about it. Not only were the people special, the dogs added to the friendly accepting ambience.
As for the food, my only complaint is that it was so good I ate too much and all the effort I put into burning calories by cycling was lost by the impossibility of not gorging on glorious food!
I could go on and on but I have to leave something for all the others to say. Anyway it was marvellous !

Nice bike rides
All our rides were lovely, each one different and enjoyable.
We have had great days out, been so well fed and watered that, despite the miles (kilometers) cycled my clothes seem to have shrunk!

The perfect country retreat you didn’t know you always wanted! Rich in nature, frog song by night and busy lizards by day. Great hosts and excellent red wine.

we had a short stay and it was exactly what we needed. A beautiful escape. The grounds and neighbouring lands were like a dream with meandering streams and sunny meadows. The hosts were very accomodating, so friendly and helpful. I’m a vegan and the food they made me was amazing. Great company, great food and the most beautiful surroundings. We even went for a morning dip in the pool!!
